The Summer Sandals Everyone Will Be Wearing

One of my favorite things about summer are the shoes. In my opinion, a good summer sandal is always strappy and comes in a fun shade. The good thing about a lot of the footwear designed for the summer season, is that most of them are flats so you don’t have to worry about your feet aching from any sort of heel. However, if you’re like me and love all the extra height you can get, shop for mules, strappy chunk heels, strappy pumps, and certain wedges. (I say certain wedges because 9 times out of 10 when I see a girl in wedges I cringe and have to fight back the urge to go burn them.)

Personally, I prefer to wear a strappy pump out in the summer months. Strappy pumps are sexy when worn for a night out because of their thin straps. You can get strappy pumps in a wide range of colors and fabrics to match whatever look you want to achieve.  WARING: If you are not an expert at walking in heels, DO NOT buy strappy pumps. These are the hardest heels to walk in because they are typically very thin and your toe slides forward as it is an open toed pump. When you’re trying these on, make sure they feel like someone super glued them to your foot when you walk to make sure that your foot is not going to be sliding around.

If you haven’t seen the Kardashians lately, they have been rocking furry slides and honestly I am kinda into it. They are great shoes for the summer too, but look best styled with athleisure wear. This is just a trend at the moment, so I wouldn’t invest a lot of money in a pair of furry slides if you feel like this is the shoe you want to rock. (I’ve listed a pair from ALDO below that is only $35.)

Another thing that I want to hit before I show you some of my picks is that not all summer shoes need to be open toe. I know some people are weird about their toes showing in shoes or are like me and have runners toe nails, so I have included some covered toe flats into the mix. I love flats because they can be just as fun as sandals with straps and bright colors, but they will give off a more professional or sophisticated vibe. Business woman should be ditching their pumps this summer and switching to a pointed toe flat. These flats will be equally as flattering because it still has the pointed toe, but you won’t have the pain that comes along with wearing heels for hours.

  1. For a formal occasion it might seem like a necessity to wear fancy heels with your dress, but shoe preference is unique to everyone. You have to keep in mind what is most comfortable for you. I like Brandie Pointed Toe Flat. Yellow is this year’s hottest color and the flat can keep my feet comfortable.
